Privacy Policy for PipePulse
This Privacy Policy explains how Iron Apps ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the PipePulse mobile application (the "App") on iOS and Android.
PipePulse is an independent app made by the PipePulse developer. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Moen or Fortune Brands. Moen and Flo are trademarks of their owners.
1. Information We Process and How It Is Used
Moen Account Credentials: To show your devices, PipePulse signs in to your Moen account with the email and password you enter. Connections to Moen use encryption (HTTPS). We never send, see, intercept, or store your credentials on any external servers managed by us.
Smart Device Data: PipePulse reads your homes, devices, readings, water use and alerts from Moen's service.
Support & Debug Communications: If you send a support request or a problem report, we receive what you write. Providing your email address is entirely optional. You may also choose to send anonymized technical information, which can include device telemetry, app events, and device history to help us improve the app. This information does not contain Personally Identifiable Information (such as names, addresses, serial numbers, or email addresses).
Subscriptions: Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We receive whether your subscription is active, never your payment details.
2. Where Your Data Is Stored
On-Device Secure Storage: If you turn on Remember me, your password is kept on your phone so the app can sign in again by itself. Your login and password are stored only on your phone, in its secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android).
Local Database: Your history is stored in a database on your phone.
Server-Side Telemetry & History: While your primary data is local, anonymized device history, telemetry, and crash reports may be securely sent to our servers via Firebase Firestore and Firebase Crashlytics, or similar services, to help us debug issues and improve the app. This data contains no Personally Identifiable Information.
3. Anonymized Crash Reporting and Analytics
To monitor app stability, we use Firebase Crashlytics. If Share crash reports is on in Settings, the app may send a report when it stops working. Reports are anonymized in the same way as problem reports. You can turn this off at any time.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
The app talks directly to Moen's service, under Moen's own privacy policy. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
5. Keeping and Deleting Your Data
Your data stays on your phone until you remove it. Settings > Clear history on this device removes saved readings and water-use events from this device. Your settings and device details stay, and available history can be downloaded again the next time the app syncs. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored app data.
6. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and Regional Privacy Laws)
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. Because almost everything stays on your phone, we usually hold nothing except support requests you sent. Because PipePulse stores virtually all data locally on your device, you have full control to view and erase this data directly through your phone settings or by uninstalling the App. If you have submitted a support ticket and wish to have that email record deleted, contact us through the app support page.
7. Children's Privacy
PipePulse is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Security
Connections to Moen use encryption (HTTPS). Credentials are kept in the phone's secure storage, and the app can require Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint to open.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be shown in the app with its date. Important changes will be pointed out when you next open the app.
10. Contact
Questions about privacy: contact us through the support inside the app.
